Barrett Planning Group has an immediate need for a full-time senior planner. The position involves the following duties and responsibilities:
Basic Duties
- Manage and support teams of co-workers and subcontractors on planning projects for state and local government clients in New England;
- Gather, interpret, and analyze a variety of data, and prepare reports, maps, and advanced data visualizations;
- Build and nurture client relationships;
- Present reports to municipal officials and staff, and the general public;
- Represent the firm at evening and weekend meetings (both in-person and remote); and
- Supervise and assist with training junior planners
Required/Highly Desirable Knowledge
- Knowledge of principles and practices of planning, data collection; research methods, and statistics; and data visualization techniques;
- Knowledge of federal CDBG, HOME, related federal and state programs;
- Excellent writing and presentation skills;
- Advanced knowledge of GIS; and
- Sound working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office.

- Oral communication and interpersonal skills to explain complicated information clearly to the public;
- Creative problem-solving skills s;
- Proven ability to create graphic designs and sketches;
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously; and
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree and 3+ years of experience. AICP strongly preferred. Must have valid driver's license and ability to drive to and from client sites.
We are a hybrid work environment. Position requires some in-person work in our South Shore office and some evening meetings with clients (remote and in-person).
