Three Co-founders of the Transportation Planning Division

Throughout the 1970s, Bruce Wilson (Wisconsin and Florida), Jim Scott, (retired), and I (of Wilbur Smith & Associates) met at almost every AIP and ASPO conference to organize a Transportation Planning Division. How did we do it?

Jim was eventually the Transportation Planning Division's first Chair. Throughout that period, I organized two or three transportation sessions at each conference — twice a year! I still get to the TPD meetings every year to check up on you guys.

We also appreciated the strong support from Paul Sedway, FAICP , who was AIP Vice President when the Division was created.
