Members' 25-Year Reminiscences

Korah T. Mani, AICP

Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania

It was certainly a memorable day for me, an immigrant from India, to be a member of AIP and AICP before APA was formed.

My induction to the planning profession in this country was facilitated by Mr. William K. Davis, AICP, who hired me in November 1972, to be a project planner with Roy F Weston, Inc., of West Chester, Pennsylvania. I got the training and experience under his guidance and from working with other associates at Weston for 24 years. I became a certified member of AICP in 1975, thanks to Mr. Richard Bickel, AICP , who examined me for my knowledge in the "planning" culture.

I have been in the planning profession for all these years and I thank the organization for highlighting the role of planners in shaping the policies that dealt with land uses, land preservation, environmental protection, and other issues that impact communities and regions of this great nation. I am proud of being considered as one of the "charter members" of APA. Good luck to APA in its next 25, 50, and 100 years of valuable contribution for the betterment of the community of people and nature.
