Chongqing Mayors Training August 2005
In August 2005, 27 mayors from Chongqing toured
the U.S. during a rapidly paced and intense program. The delegation
visited New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Pittsburgh,
Buffalo, Chicago, Minneapolis and St. Paul, Portland,
Oregon, and finally San Francisco. The program featured lectures
by a former American ambassador, big city mayors, planning directors
and other planning professionals. There were visits to downtown business
districts, the World Bank, the Green Roof on Chicago's City Hall, and regional
parks in Twin Cities.
