Wuhan Central South Architectural Design Institute Training Established in 1952, Central South Architectural Design Institute (CSADI) was one of the largest and one of the six earliest established comprehensive architectural design institutes in China. CSADI owns a class A qualification certificate for architecture design, commercial engineering design, intelligent system design, engineering general contractor, engineering project management, engineering consultation and architectural decorative design; and a class B certificate for post (special communications network) design, urban planning, and municipal engineering design. CSADI currently employs 557 professionals with many state-renowned architects. In the 52-year history, the institute's design covered over 15 countries and won numerous national, ministerial, and provincial awards. CSDAI ensures design excellence by constantly focusing on professional career development and continuous education. Each year the institute sends multiple delegations to developed countries to study architecture and urban design. This year, APA has the opportunity to host a CSADI study group in the U.S. APA developed a comprehensive program to advance CSADI professionals' appreciation and understanding of designs in America. The team was exposed to an array of presentations and walking tours to important urban design excellence and architectural masterpieces throughout the country. President Yang Xiaobo, with a MBA degree from the U.S., organized and led this study group for the 15-day training. CSADI is interested in collaborating with American planning and design firms in Chinese projects. Please contact Yufeng Guo at yguo@planning.org or 202-349-1010 if interested.
