Search Tips

To speed up your search and retrieve a list of titles that closely matches your interests, enter as many search criteria as possible. For example, if you're looking for PAS reports on redeveloping brownfields, select "PAS Reports" from the drop-down publication list, "environment – regulations" from the drop-down subject list, and then type "brownfield" into the keyword line of the search form. You'll retrieve a short and specific list of items.

Some tips for author searches:
If your initial author search is unsuccessful, try searching by either the author's first or last name. For example, if the author's name is "Jane Smith" just enter "Jane" or "Smith." That way, if her name is entered as "Jane M. Smith" on our database, you'll be able to find all her titles.

Some tips for title searches:
If your initial title search is unsuccessful, try entering just one or two words from the title. Whatever you enter must exactly match part of the title. For example, if you're looking for POSSIBLE PLANNING ROLES FOR REGIONAL GOVERNMENT, you can search by the entire title ("possible planning roles") or any part of it (i.e. "planning roles").

A note on keyword searches:
An initial search by keyword looks only through words or phrases we've specifically identified as "keywords" for each title. If your keyword search is unsuccessful, you will be asked if you want to conduct a more extensive search that looks through our entire database. If you choose "yes," please be patient — it might take a minute or two to find the titles you want.
