This all-day program is presented in two parts. Part one (morning) covers the framework for planning, the role and responsibility of the planning commission, and ethical decision making. Part two (afternoon) examines contemporary issues facing communities and how planning helps address them.

Speakers will discuss planning from the perspective of different state requirements, regional differences, and national standards. The audience will have the ability to ask questions of the speaker in real time and join the discussion.

The program is delivered as a webcast online. Registrants will have an opportunity to test their equipment prior to the program to ensure sound quality and resolve access issues. The program website will include suggestions for how to supplement the program to make it pertinent to your community circumstances.
