Ethical Responsibilities of Zoning and Planning OfficialsAPA Ohio ChapterMedina, OH Members of zoning and planning boards can avoid behavior which may be deemed in violation of the Ohio ethics laws by learning about such topics as conflicts of interest and the impartiality of public decision making in this workshop.
More Instructors: Susan Willeke Susan M. Willeke joined the Ohio Ethics Commission in 2005 as the Education and Communications Administrator where she oversees and conducts educational and communication outreach. Prior to joining the Commission, Susan served for eleven years in the communications office at the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and has also served as a legislative aide in the Ohio House of Representatives. Susan is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
Patrice Theken AICP Patrice Theken, AICP, retired Director of the Medina County Department of Planning Services. Ms. Theken received her BA in Education and MA in Planning from the University of Akron. Ms. Theken has been involved in the planning and zoning fields for 30 years. She is a member of the American Planning Association (APA),American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). She served as the Akron Section, APA Ohio, (the State Chapter of APA) Director for seven years, and now sits on the APA Ohio Board, and is co-chair of the Membership Committee. She currently is an adjunct instructor at the University of Akron, Department of Geography and Planning.
