ToP Facilitation Methods TrainingInstitute of Cultural Affairs - USASan Antonio, TX Technology of Participation (ToP) Facilitation Methods training helps groups think, talk and work together. It provides group facilitators with structured methods that allow a group to deal with more data in less time while incorporating the contributions of all. ToP methods enable integrated thinking and they help minimize polarization and conflict.
This training teaches the foundational values of: Inclusive Participation, Teamwork and Collaboration, Individual and Group Creativity, Action and Ownership, and Reflection and Learning. ToP methods use innovative approaches that have been extensively researched and field tested. These methods are supported by practical results that have proven sustainable over time, giving participants renewed confidence in their capability to support participative approaches and strategies in their organization.
Instructors: Mary Flanagan Mary Flanagan, CTF
Mary is a Mentor Trainer through the Institute of Cultural Affairs, and carries a national certification, Certified ToP® Facilitator (CTF). She served on the editorial team for the 2005 edition of the ToP® Participatory Strategic Planning manual used throughout the United States. She currently chairs the Certification Task Force for the ToP Trainers’ Network. She has served and continues to serve on numerous community committees and boards.
Mary has over 25 years of experience in planning, project development, fund raising, coalition building, board governance, leadership development and management in the nonprofit arena. Mary holds a Masters degree in Social Work from the University Of Houston Graduate School Of Social Work and a BA with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. She is licensed as an Advanced Practitioner of Social Work in Texas (LMSW-AP).
