ToP Facilitation Methods TrainingInstitute of Cultural Affairs - USAMinneapolis, MN Technology of Participation (ToP) Facilitation Methods training helps groups think, talk and work together. It provides group facilitators with structured methods that allow a group to deal with more data in less time while incorporating the contributions of all. ToP methods enable integrated thinking and they help minimize polarization and conflict.
This training teaches the foundational values of: Inclusive Participation, Teamwork and Collaboration, Individual and Group Creativity, Action and Ownership, and Reflection and Learning. ToP methods use innovative approaches that have been extensively researched and field tested. These methods are supported by practical results that have proven sustainable over time, giving participants renewed confidence in their capability to support participative approaches and strategies in their organization.

Linda Alton is a Certified ToP® Facilitator and Mentor Trainer of the Institute of Cultural Affairs, helping to develop the core approaches of facilitation now known as the ‘Technology of Participation’. She worked for 20 years outside of the U.S. in The Philippines, Kenya and Belgium with teams exploring ‘participation’ and ‘access to voice. Minnesota Technology of Participation, LLC has been the core of her passion for the last 12 years and most recently she has enjoyed working with the Oneida Tribe in Wisconsin, Heifer International in New York and New Hampshire, Indian Health Service Federal District 4, Pangea World Theatre, Patrons for the Arts of the Vatican Museum…which have given many opportunities for applications of the ToP® methods.
