Instructors: Christopher Duerksen Christopher Duerksen is cofounder of the Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute and managing director of Clarion Associates of Colorado. A land-use lawyer, he specializes in development code revisions, growth management, historic preservation, and protecting natural resources and scenic areas. His publications include Aesthetics, Community Character, and the Law from APA Planning Advisory Service. Duerksen writes and speaks extensively on land-use issues. James Duncan FAICP James Duncan, FAICP, is one of America's leading urban planning and growth management practitioners. During his four-decade career, he has worked with more than 200 cities, counties, regions, and states to create a series of award-winning comprehensive plans and development codes. A past president of APA, Duncan coauthored the Growth Management Principles & Practices, published by APA Planners Press. Craig Richardson Craig Richardson is a planner and lawyer with substantial national experience in implementing comprehensive plans, drafting development codes, developing growth management strategies, and planning capital facilities. As vice president of Clarion Associates, he directs the firm's North Carolina office. He has overseen projects including a zoning ordinance for metropolitan Charlotte, North Carolina, and an updated comprehensive plan for metropolitan Nashville. (5 Ratings)
