American Planning AssociationCharlotte, NC

Local governments are leading the sustainability revolution, and development codes are one of their most powerful tools. Find out how progressive communities are adding sustainability to their zoning, subdivision, and other land-use regulations. You'll discover a groundbreaking model code and proven strategies you can apply to your own community.

You'll learn about:

- Turning your current policies and regulations into a sustainable development code
- Removing barriers, creating incentives, and filling regulatory gaps — three paths to a sustainable code
- Measuring the costs and benefits of sustainable code amendments
- Assessing the impact of recent case law, legislation, and administrative developments
- Adopting best practices for climate adaptation and mitigation
- Moving from inspiration to action on climate change, alternative energy, housing diversity, and urban agriculture
