Non-Native Invasive Plants Workshop 7

The primary regions of North Carolina that are most significantly impacted by the proliferation of invasive, noxious and non-native plants are the urban and suburban developed areas in which planners have a large influence. It is necessary for planners to understand how development and environmental quality are associated with unwanted plant species.

This workshop will provide planners with that information and training. If planners can take into account the environmental conditions that lead to infestations of unwanted plants, they can help prevent or at least control the spread of these species. We hope to have planners participate because they have a more holistic understanding of community engagement and civic pride needed to control weeds and non-native and invasive plants.
