NCDOT Transitioning for a New Era: 2040 Plan - NC Statewide Transportation Plan UpdateAtkins North America Holdings CorporationAustin, TX Free event The NCDOT has recently completed the update to the statewide long-range transportation plan for North Carolina, the 2040 Plan. The participants of the webinar will learn about the NCDOT’s program delivery (referred to as ‘Prioritization’) and role of the 2040 Plan in the process. The webinar will examine the overall challenges and opportunities facing transportation in North Carolina. It will also examine the growing interest in multi-modal transportation in the state and how future spending could be prioritized to reflect that shift.
The current funding model for transportation in North Carolina will also be examined, including its ability to fund the identified future funding needs for all transportation modes within the state.
Finally, a set of strategic investments and policy changes necessary for the 2040 Plan implementation will be discussed. The participants will gain knowledge about not only the contents of the 2040 Plan, but also intricacies behind delivery of transportation in North Carolina.
Instructors: Mark Boggs Mark Boggs, PE has extensive transportation planning and engineering experience specializing in transit and transportation planning projects. Mark led the successful completion of North Carolina's 2040 Plan, Tennessee Long-Range Transportation Plan and is project manager on the I-95 Planning and Finance Study. Mark’s experience includes development and preparation of long-range transportation plans (LRTP), urban transportation needs analyses, transportation policy analysis, highway and multimodal corridor studies, expressway system master plans, transit planning, ITS planning, and statewide rail planning and program development. Mr. Boggs’ in-depth knowledge of transportation policy has proved invaluable for analysis projects conducted for state departments of transportation and local transportation agencies. He also has specialized expertise with statewide rail and freight planning and policy issues. Adam Wroblewski AICP Adam Wroblewski, AICP, is experienced in transportation planning including transit planning, financing transit projects, multimodal transportation planning and design, university master planning, sustainable design, corridor studies, and traffic forecasting. His work as principal planner for the2040 Plan provided him with a strong understanding of NCDOT's multimodal systems and procedures. He has been lead planner on multiple community transportation services plans for the NCDOT Public Transportation Division. (12 Ratings)
