An important strategy for ensuring the success of a climate process involves strategic stakeholder engagement and effective communication approaches. Communities that engage and communicate effectively with its stakeholders will lay the foundation for successful climate action and more resilient communities.
For this webinar Chase Jones from the City of Missoula, Montana will discuss the recent adoption of the Missoula Conservation & Climate Action Plan and give us the inside track on the adoption process. Susanne Moser, an internationally recognized expert on climate communications and science-policy interactions, will discuss communications strategies and approaches for making positive connections with a diverse audience.
More Instructors: Susanne Moser Susanne Moser is Director of Susanne Moser Research & Consulting in Santa Cruz, California and a Social Science Research Fellow at Stanford’s Woods Institute for the Environment. She is an internationally recognized expert on adaptation, communication, and science-policy interactions. Dr. Moser has contributed to IPCC, US national, and various regionally-focused climate change assessments. She regularly works with local, state and federal agencies on climate change adaptation issues. Dr. Moser has been recognized as a fellow of the Aldo Leopold Leadership, Kavli Frontiers of Science, UCAR Leadership, Donella Meadows Leadership, and Google Science Communication Programs. Chase Jones Chase Jones is the Energy Conservation Coordinator at the City of Missoula. He facilitated the Mayor-appointed citizen Task Force that created Missoula’s Conservation & Climate Action Plan and currently coordinates Plan activities, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
