Capital Region Sustainability Plan Presentation

Mr. Wilson will give a presentation about the completed draft Capital Region Sustainability Plan (sustainablecapitalregion.org). The plan covers eight counties:

Washington, Warren, Saratoga, Rensselear, Schenectady, Albany, Columbia, and Greene. Funded through Governor Cuomo's Cleaner Greener Program, the plan:

- Assesses current greenhouse gas emissions and energy use, along with available natural resources and economic assets, liabilities, and opportunities

- Sets sustainability targets for energy supplies, transportation, waste and water management, land use, housing, agriculture, economic development, and open space

- Develops a sustainability plan outlining the short- and long-term actions our region can take to achieve targets and goals

- Prioritizes eligible projects that can apply for Cleaner, Greener Communities implementation funding.
