2005 AICP Community Planning Workshop Schedule of Events

7:30 a.m.
Meet and Greet at Moscone Center. Walk to BART

8:15 a.m.
Arrive at West Oakland BART Station. Walk across the street to The Crucible.

8:30 a.m.
Arrive at The Crucible. Be greeted by community team. Coffee, tea, and rolls served. Introduction of community team and participants. Presentation of purpose of the workshop.

9:00 a.m.
30-minute tour of project area (7th Street (north side only), 8th Street (Wood to Peralta).

9:30-10:15 a.m.
Opening greeting by Councilmember Nancy Nadel and Workshop Convenor Walter Hood. Overview of key issues. Introductions by key community members. Brief introductions of professional participants.

10:30 a.m.-noon
Discussion of breakout group topics and goals.
Create break-out group teams. Review of goals. Begin discussion.

12:00 noon
Working Lunch: Continue discussion in break out groups.

1:00 p.m.
Wrap-up of small group conclusions

1:30 p.m.
Small groups report out. Begin large group discussion and compilation of strategies.

2:45 p.m.
Snack break

3:00 p.m.
Concluding thoughts. Discussion of next steps for refinement of preliminary guidelines.

3:30 p.m.
Walk back to BART for return to Moscone Center.

4:00 p.m.
