For many years, APA has been collaborating with Chinese government and professional agencies on various city planning projects. APA has done projects with many Chinese regions and cities in urban development and urban design, including Shanghai, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Guizhou, and Qinghai. In Fall 2005, the U.S. Department of Commerce accepted APA's application to develop marketing, promotion and technical assistance to U.S. planning and design firms wishing to work in Chinese market during the next three years. This is the result of a long term effort by APA, working with the International Trade Administration and the Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce, to promote the use of American design, planning and engineering services in the fast growing China market.
