

The American Planning Association provides several opportunities for AICP members to obtain Certification Maintenance (CM) credits for free through distance education products.
These opportunities, links to more information, and CM credits available are listed below. APA will add free distance education opportunities as they come online, so please check this page frequently for the most current information.
In addition to an overview of the direct technical assistance aspects of APA's Community Assistance Program (CAP), the CAP Training Webinar is intended for APA members interested in starting their own pro bono community assistance programs within their own chapters or divisions.
Distance CM credit may be earned by watching the webinar and completing an evaluation.

Each month in Chicago, APA hosts a free after-work lecture and discussion in which practicing planners and researchers discuss innovative ideas and concepts or present their latest projects. These programs offer Certification Maintenance (CM) credit for attendees. They are also recorded and offered for CM credit through distance education. AICP members listen to the audio recording and follow along with a provided PowerPoint.

Through examples and activities, this "how-to" guide explains the value of Health Impact Assessments and outlines the steps involved in conducting one. The course was developed by the American Planning Association and the National Association of County & City Health Officials, and is available free through a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention through December 31, 2012.

This symposium brought together federal officials, planners, academics, and grassroots advocates to focus on the achievements of America's first 100 years of planning. Certification Maintenance (CM) credits may be earned by viewing all four parts of the symposium video.
