Low Impact Development Workshop

The Lake Superior NERRSuperior, WI

LID is a nationally recognized approach to stormwater management that mimics a site's natural hydrology as the landscape is developed. The LID approach is being adopted by many communities to meet Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL), Municipal Separate Storm Sever System (MS4), Outstanding Resource Value Water (ORVW) and Antidegradation requirements. Proper design, installation and maintenance of LID practices are critical to their success.

This course includes instruction on the design, installation and maintenance of LID practices as well as examples of projects that have been installed and are functioning successfully. Techniques to minimize the likelihood of short and long-term failure are also discussed.
