Climate Adaptation for Coastal Communities

The Climate Adaptation for Coastal Communities Training course provides professional development for managers, planners, and program administrators on the fundamental concepts, latest information, and necessary skills for coastal communities to proactively adapt to impacts of climate change. During this 3 day course, participants will engage with subject matter experts from the area to apply new information and knowledge to their individual and organizational roles. Throughout the course participants will use exercises and small group activities to identify information needs, resources, partnerships, and actions to effectively integrate climate change adaptation into policies, plans, and programs.

Topics include climate science and impacts, vulnerability assessment, planning and implementation of strategies, and communication.

The training course is being delivered as a partnership between the Los Angeles Regional Collaborative for Climate Action and Sustainability, South Bay Cities Council of Government and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
