Real Estate Roundtables of Knowledge

Sensible Land Use CoalitionSt. Louis Park, MN

The purpose of this program is intended provide a robust selection of round table land use/development industry discussions that each participant can choose from. Each roundtable will be 20 minutes long and participants must attend three sessions.

Roundtable topics:

1. Greater MSP One Year Later: Update on the organization’s progress in building relationships, and developing opportunities for business expansion and relocation in the region.

2. Rail Download: Projects on Track:
There are many rail projects throughout the state that are being researched and implemented. Every type of rail from passenger rail, to high speed rail, commuter rail to light rail. This speaker will let participants know what is going on with all projects relating to rail.

3. Social Media: Applications for public and private sector land use professionals-getting ahead of the curve, using it as a tool to communicate projects, encourage resident engagement, and business development

4. 21st Century workplace: what does it look like? How will it change office/commercial building and space demands?

5. Energy Conservation-bright ideas: Excel Energy will educate about energy saving construction enhancements, and retrofitting.

6. Permeable paving-rights and wrongs-the use of permeable paving and advantages to stormwater management. They will also share pitfalls of installing these materials.

7. Urban Farming, CSAs, farmers market and more: How cities are amending their ordinances to accommodate CSAs, urban animals, the benefits to sustainability and urban living.

8. Apartments-Latest projects and numbers: Learn about the increasing demand for rental housing, and the market details including locations and demographics. They will also share outlooks and forecasts for apartments.

9. Development News-In the Know: Learn about new and innovative development projects, large and small in the entire metro area
