APA Minnesota ChapterSt. Paul, MN

Free event

The planning process requires future expectations, and thus growth forecasts. Forecasting can be a useful tool for evaluating the impacts of policy, visualizing scenarios, and considering future priorities. This session will discuss the challenges and uses of growth forecasts, with a focus on the Metropolitan Council’s recent experience employing new technologies and data to provide scenario-based forecasts for regional planning.

This discussion is a follow-up to Todd Graham and Dennis Farmer’s presentation at Minnesota APA Conference in September 2012. In this session, Todd and Dennis will discuss further locally specific assumptions and data inputs about cities or provided by cities, and how these inform the Council’s modeling.
