Peter Dougherty is a senior associate with the Washington D.C., office of Ayers Saint Gross, a design firm of 140 people with planning, landscape, and architecture clients around the world. A licensed architect with a background in urban-scale and cultural/educational design work, Dougherty is helping to develop and co-lead Ayers Saint Gross's emerging practice in strategic systems and sustainability planning. He heads the consultant team for Sustainable DC, the interagency effort to research and develop the Vision for a Sustainable DC. Dougherty received a Master of Architecture degree from the Harvard Design School, and a B.A. from Middlebury College. He has served as a visiting design juror and faculty member at schools including Princeton University, Virginia Tech, Catholic University, and IIT. Prior to joining Ayers Saint Gross, he worked in Basel, Switzerland with the design firm of Herzog and de Meuron, winners of the 2001 Pritzker Prize for Architecture.
