Mayor Rosamilia is a graduate of Sacred Heart School, Catholic Central High School, Hudson Valley Community College, and The University of Albany where he earned a B.S. and M.S. He began his career as a teacher, coach and Athletic Director at LaSalle Institute. Prior to becoming Mayor, Lou was a Professor of Accounting in Hudson Valley Community College’s Business Department. He has received numerous teaching awards and distinctions. Rosamilia has been the featured speaker at conferences, symposiums and lectures. His expertise is often sought as a contributor and reviewer of accounting textbooks by some of the nation’s top business authors. Mayor Rosamilia has over 18 years of experience as union representative for the Faculty Association of Hudson Valley Community College and has held leadership positions as Vice-President, Treasurer, and Delegate–At-Large. Elected by his colleagues, he previously served as Deputy Minority Leader of the Rensselaer County Legislature.
