

As part of the Community Assistance Program, the American Institute of Certified Planners sponsors one-day workshops at the annual APA National Planning Conference.
The workshops were designed to address a local planning issue in a community of the conference host city. Projects are selected to ensure that the community benefits from a focused one-day effort involving community members, local planning staff, and APA volunteers from all over the country. Workshops assist a community that does not have all of the necessary resources to engage in the community planning process.

APA is working with the Trinidad Neighborhood Association to organize a Community Planning Workshop just prior to the start of APA's Federal Policy and Briefing Program and Fall Leadership Meetings in Washington, D.C. This is an opportunity for planners from around the country to participate in a pro bono community planning effort. Planners will meet and work directly with residents and stakeholders of the historic Trinidad neighborhood along with representative from city agencies to engage in idea-generating and problem-solving discussions.
