Volunteer with APAWant to get involved with the APA Conference? APA is seeking talented and excited members to help out in a few key areas. Positions are limited and some are based on experience, complete an application using the links listed below. Walking tour wranglerNo tour guide experience necessary! Volunteer to help "wrangle" a group of attendees from point A to point B. Most locations are within a few blocks of the conference hotel, but that doesn't mean we want to send attendees out all alone! As a walking tour wrangler you would be responsible for taking a group of attendees to the APA office, the Art Institute of Chicago, or the Chicago Architecture foundation and then back to the conference hotel. We will provide you with a detailed map and walking instructions, and you would be responsible for making sure all the folks who left with you, return with you. In addition you would get to enjoy the tour right along with the attendees. Interested in volunteering as a wrangler? Resume Clinic ReviewerSaturday, Sunday, and Monday, April 13, 14, and 15, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please plan to commit to a 2-hour shift. Do you have experience reviewing resumes and hiring new employees into your agency or firm? In today's challenging job market, many of your colleagues are struggling with writing the most effective resume or cover letter that will help them stand out from the crowd. We need volunteers who can spend some time (2-4 hours per shift) giving one-on-one advice (in 20 minute appointments) to Resume Clinic attendees. Interested in volunteering as a Resume Clinic Reviewer? Case Study Competition JudgesAPA is seeking a panel of judges for its student case competition, which will take place at the National Planning Conference on Saturday, April 13. Journey World/Girl Scouts Focus GroupTuesday, April 16, 6:30–8 p.m. The Girl Scouts of Chicago and Northwest Indiana run a unique educational facility called Journey World in downtown Chicago. On two floors, called — It's Your Planet — Love it! and It's Your Future-Dream it! — kids explore 4 natural ecosystems and develop a working economy in a city simulation. The Girl Scouts are developing a City Planner role in the city simulation and seek planners' advice on how to better integrate the natural and built environment areas of Journey World. Volunteers are needed to tour the facility and provide feedback. Refreshments provided! Student Volunteers | ||
