Tuesday at the Conference
The 2007 National Awards for Planning honor planning landmarks and pioneers, journalists, students, citizens, and professionals who have achieved excellence and helped to improve communities' quality of life.
The world planning keynote featured Carolina Barco Isakson, Colombia's ambassador to the United States and former planning director of Bogota, followed by Jim Claydon, president of the U.K.'s Royal Town Planning Institute.
Highlighting this year's annual meeting were addresses by APA President David Siegel, AICP, and AICP President Sue Schwartz, FAICP. The ceremony included a program featuring the accomplishments of several individuals and organizations being presented with various 2006 APA and AICP Planning Awards.
Conference goers chose from about 235 sessions that offered case studies of the best planning from around the U.S.
