RFP Number: 12-031
Project Title: Fullerton Transit Loop Feasibility Study
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
The objective of this project is to prepare a feasibility analysis, plan, financing strategy, and implementation program for a Town/Gown Transit Loop (i.e. fixed transit/streetcar loop system) linking the Fullerton Transportation Center (which is home to Metrolink, OCTA Bus, and Amtrak), Collegetown (including California State University, Fullerton and Hope International University), Fullerton College, Fullerton High School, Raymond Elementary School, Downtown Fullerton, the Fullerton Civic Center, and the Commonwealth and Chapman commercial corridors and surrounding neighborhoods.
Over the past four decades, Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), has evolved as the largest of nearly 700 councils of government in the United States, functioning as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for six counties: Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura. As the designated MPO, SCAG is mandated by the federal and state government to develop regional plans for transportation, growth management, housing development, air quality and other issues of regional significance. SCAG relies heavily on outside consultants and vendors to help accomplish the overall mission and objectives of SCAG. We are always striving to increase the breadth and depth of talent in our pool of potential consultants and vendors, and are especially interested in bringing more certified DBEs into the database.
