Through a Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant award from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, a regional consortium of 13 member Lehigh Valley-based agencies and local governments are undertaking a variety of planning activities.

The proposed regional economic development plan is intended to build upon LVEDC’s Strategic Plan that was prepared and adopted in 2009 and to complement replace the region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy adopted in 2011.

This plan needs to incorporate sustainable principles and initiatives where feasible, in keeping with the overarching sustainability planning effort outlined in the RFP.
