"750, 240" — a type of salutation that you may begin to hear soon from County Planners.  Callers to a popular sports radio show often identify themselves by first declaring their size — 6'4", 210. My county is 750 square miles with 240,000 residents — hence "750, 240."

Many counties are large in size, and some are also large in population.  They can be diverse in many ways (geography, population, development philosophies, etc.) and are often urban, rural, and suburban, all at the same time.  Frequently counties are simply the "town" for the land area left over after the municipalities carve out their boundaries.

And with all of these obstacles, counties quite often get the grand opportunity of having a planning palette that contains vast quantities of undeveloped land. They are places where the variety is great, the challenges are daunting, and the potential is fantastic.

Come join us as we make our mission come alive.
