I am pleased to be considered for an officer's position for the New Urbanism Division and hope that this can be an opportunity to continue my work with the American Planning Association.

As a planning consultant for nearly 17 years, I have worked for a wide range of communities on a mix of issues and have seen a transformation as many of these communities have changed their focus to creating a sense of place that incorporates many of the principles of new urbanism.  I see the New Urbanism Division as a key player in educating planners and planning officials about the benefits new urbanism and the innovative tools available to communities that will help them realize their vision.

I bring to this position a strong leadership background having recently finished serving out my term as the chapter president of the Ohio Chapter of APA along with continuous service to the chapter since my graduation from the University of Cincinnati. I bring to this position an important understanding of the role of leadership in the division and in APA as well as the need for this division to serve as a central resource on new urbanism.
