For Secretary/Treasurer

Christine M. Dersi

In 2009, I received a Master's degree in Urban Planning, Design, and Development at Cleveland State University with a concentration in Neighborhood Development with a strong interest in regionalism and the new urbanist theory. During my graduate studies, I served as membership chair of the student chapter of the American Planning Association (APA). I also served a national position with APA as the Region IV Student Representative Council Executive Member. In 2008 I was elected Treasurer/Secretary for the New Urbanism Division of APA.

In 2009 I was hired by a local planning consulting firm and in 2010 I was appointed a position on the Downtown Cleveland Alliance City Advocates board.

My experience thus far as Treasurer/Secretary has been fruitful and exciting. Since the beginning of my previous term, I have gained an even greater passion to act as a leader in this new urbanism movement and have become more familiar with technical and professional skills necessary to help bring the New Urbanism Division into a continued era of strength.
