Urban Design and Preservation
As Chair of the APA Urban Design & Preservation (UDP) Division, I would like to thank you for visiting our webpage. The Division is a nationwide community of professionals dedicated to supporting educational and networking opportunities for planners, urban designers, preservationists and allied professionals. We offer great opportunities to promote these topics within the field of planning and within the APA.
Our Division members are uniquely concerned with the built environment, particularly urban design, historic preservation, and the legacy of the planning profession. I am passionate about promoting the ongoing education of planners and allied professionals in the principles of urban design and preservation. Therefore, I am excited to lead the Division while we unveil a progressive work plan that will enable members to gain access to exclusive educational opportunities and training materials.
Other initiatives the Division has recently undertaken include a session track sponsorship on suburban redevelopment at the 2011 APA Conference in Boston, the development of case study resources and webcasts for members, and the launch of the Division's My One City campaign.
If you find these topics of value, or if you have an interest in working with fellow urban designers and preservationists, please consider volunteering to assist with Division activities.
We invite you to join (if you have not) and to get involved.
