APA Hosts 30 Chinese Mayors for Training and Tour
APA is coordinating a training and tour of eight U.S. cities for 30 mayors
from Jiangsu Province, China, from November 5-25, 2003.
Click here for a news release on the mayors' visit.
The mayors' visit is part of a larger educational program developed by APA
and the Jiangsu Province Office of Personnel Education to improve the use and
understanding of planning and planners. The cities on the mayors' tour are listed
below. APA seeks assistance in identifying local contacts in each city:
- Hosts who will brief the group on the city and region
- Local elected officials such as the mayor and state or county officials
to meet with the delegation
- Private or nonprofit organizations interested in hosting the mayors for
a luncheon, dinner, or reception
- Individuals willing to join the group for a tour of the city based on an
itinerary drawn up in advance
