On Friday, the AICP Commission met for a full day to review the recommendations contained in a report titled: "AICP Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct: A Critical Review and Audit — Assessment and Recommendations." This thorough study, also known as the Salkin Report, is the most comprehensive review of the AICP Code of Ethics since the consolidation of the organization 25 years ago. The Divisions Council formalized a new annual grants process so that individual divisions can apply for grants to pursue activities of interest to their members. Also, based on the Divisions Council's recommendations supported by the Chapter Presidents Council, a multi-organizational task group has been appointed to review the Planning Accreditation Board's criteria for accreditation of planning schools. The Student Representatives Council Executive Committee held a Strategic Planning Retreat in conjunction with the meetings. |
