APA Director of Outreach and International Programs Jeffrey Soule, FAICP, offers suggestions for improving civic engagement in a recent issue of HUD's online magazine EDGE.
In the article, "Community Participation: Creating a civic culture through local planning," Soule offers an overview of techniques that can be used around the world.
"Civic engagement is essential to good planning and good governance," he writes. "Using the outline here and some of the tools and techniques that apply to your own situation, you can improve the quality of life for everyone."
