National Planning Awards

The APA and AICP National Planning Awards honor excellence in plans, individuals, and organizations. Each year's award winners showcase the planning profession's past, present, and future leadership in helping create great communities.

Fellow of AICP

Election to Fellow in the American Institute of Certified Planners is a recognition of the achievements of the planner as an individual, elevating the Fellow as a model planner who has made significant contributions to planning and society.

High School Essay Contest

This contest helps high school students learn about planning in their local communities. There are two first place awards, one to a public school student and one to a private school student, and first place winners receive $5,000 scholarships.

Journalism Awards

APA's annual Journalism Awards honor newspapers "for public service rendered in the advancement of city and regional planning through outstanding journalism."

AICP Outstanding Student Awards

Recognizes outstanding attainment in the study of planning.

Outstanding PSO Award

Recognizes Planning Student Organizations for creative, successful activities.
