The City of Salinas is accepting applications for Plan Checker II to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

The Plan Checker II will perform plans examination to ensure compliance with the California Building Standards Codes, Referenced Standards, and city ordinances.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma/GED and four years of experience in building plan review or design, or

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or Architecture and two years of experience in building plan review or design.

Licenses and Certifications:

A valid State of California Driver's License. Possession of certification as a Residential Plans Examiner (R3) by the ICC or other equivalent certification and obtain certification as a Building Plans Examiner (B3) by the ICC within one year of date of hire. Certificates must be kept current during course of employment.
