Job DescriptionEcology and Environment, Inc. is a fully integrated environmental consulting firm whose underlying philosophy is its worldwide commitment to supporting sustainable development through responsible environmental stewardship. We are seeking a NEPA Planner for our office in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Our successful candidate will be responsible for managing the NEPA process and a broad range of Navy and/or potential energy projects.
Responsibilities:
• Manage NEPA EISs and EAs
• Provide technical and management support for NEPA and environmental documents
• Oversee environmental studies including wetlands delineations, cultural resource assessments, and T&E surveys
• Meet with current and potential clients
• Participate in proposal efforts for NEPA and energy projects
• Prepare budgets, scopes of work, and schedules
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Planning or Natural Resources; Master’s degree preferred
• 3 -7 years of demonstrated experience preparing and/or leading the preparation of NEPA and related environmental planning documents
• Knowledge and experience with state and federal environmental laws and regulations
• Experience managing EA projects for military or federal agencies
• Demonstrated ability with client relationship management and consultation
• Experience managing energy infrastructure projects, including linear projects preferred
• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent qualifications and references
• Ability to travel to support business needs
