The Center for Sustainable Building Research, a design, research, and public engagement unit in the College of Design at the University of Minnesota, invites applications and nominations for the position of Director. The appointment will also hold a faculty title of associate or full professor in one of the Departments in the College of Design.
The Center for Sustainable Building Research (CSBR) leads and supports – through research, outreach, and education – the transformation of the regional built environment to provide for the ecological, economic, and social needs of the present without compromising the future. CSBR serves as a research incubator for cutting-edge sustainability ideas.
Position requirements include a professional degree in architecture, sustainability, or a graduate degree in a related field and significant experience in research, design, and/or professional work in one or more of the following areas: sustainable building and development, affordable housing, and community-based design and education. Effective administrative leadership and staff management experience, the ability to articulate a vision for formulating and implementing goals and policies, and evidence of bridging academic and non-academic communities are required. Candidates must have a record of excellence and productivity that merits tenure consistent with the University of Minnesota policy. Estimated start date is fall semester 2014.
