The College of Environment and Design at The University of Georgia is seeking applicants for a nine-month tenure track faculty position in Landscape Architecture. This nine-month appointment will be at an Assistant or Associate level and is a 65% teaching and 35% research & service position. The position will begin in August 2014.
Teaching: The appointee will be expected to develop and teach a wide range of both undergraduate and graduate studio and technical courses in Landscape Architecture. The ability to bring professional practice experiences into the classroom is important. The successful candidate must possess a passion for teaching, be an effective communicator, and be an enthusiastic mentor. Mentorship will include advising graduate students at the graduate level during thesis development.
Research: The appointee will be expected to pursue an agenda of research and creative activity relevant to the College, the University, and the discipline of Landscape Architecture on a level that garners national and international recognition.
Service: The University and the College have a long history of local, state, and international engagement; the appointee will be expected to participate in this ongoing endeavor. Service contributions within the College and University are also expected.
Candidates for this position must have a professionally accredited MLA degree or an accredited BLA degree with a terminal degree in an allied design discipline. Preference will be given to candidates who have been recognized for their professional design work, outstanding professional practice experience, and licensure.
