Most pictures were either scanned from hard copies or shot with digital cameras by the contributors. All images are stored in two formats: megapixel (1024x768 32-bit color) and low-resolution (512x384 in 256 color).

The photographs showing examples of land uses and other land-use classification examples have been contributed by the following authors for use in the LBCS project. Originals and copyrights remain with the contributors.

Various government websites (mostly federal, state, and regional agencies) for pictures of government and public facilities (filenames GOV*)
