2006 Planner's Day on Capitol Hill On Tuesday, January 31, 2006, during the APA Legislative & Policy Conference, APA will conduct an advocacy day on Capitol Hill. This annual program allows participants to easily and effectively make their voice heard with Congress on issues of vital importance to communities and good planning. If you have signed up to participate in the APA/ASLA 2005 Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill, you can access all the information you need for your meetings online. A final itinerary and copies of all information will be available when you check-in onsite at the registration desk. Any questions, problems or changes can be handled by the Advocacy Day staff at registration. We are still finalizing some meetings but a regularly updated calendar of meetings is available online at www.advocacyguru.com/calendar. You can scroll through the calendar to the listing for your Senators and Representative. The listing will provide the time of the meeting and the other participants attending with you. Your final itinerary (available onsite) will list the exact location and the staff or Member with whom you will be meeting. If you Senators or Representative isn't listed in calendar, that is an indication we are still working finalize the time of the meeting. Check back for updates or consult your final itinerary. More information on advocacy day scheduling and instructions is available at www.advocacyguru.com/2005/apa-asla/advocacyday.htm. To answer your questions and get you prepared in advance for a successful meeting, you may want to consult these resources ahead of time.
