Morgan State University Seeks LCD Projectors

Morgan State University's Graduate Program in City and Regional Planning is seeking donations of liquid crystal display projectors for classroom use.  Morgan State University is one of two accredited university planning programs in our state; the University of Maryland at College Park is our other accredited planning school.

LCD projectors should be in good working condition.  Cash donations may be made for the purchase of LCD projectors.  For equipment donations please contact chapter member and MSU professor, Dr. Siddhartha Sen.  His contact information is below.  Checks may be made “MSU Foundation/IAP/City and Regional Planning” and sent to Professor Sen.  (IAP stands for Institute of Architecture and Planning.)

There are currently 45 students in the City and Regional Planning Program at Morgan State, including Kyle Nembhard, who is MSU's student representative on the Chapter's Executive Committee.  For more information, please contact Professor Sen.

Professional Development Committee

There has been a reorganization of the Professional Development Committee. Jacqui Rouse, AICP of the City of Annapolis has been selected as the Chapter's new Professional Development Officer. Jacqui's role is for the most part that of a traditional PDO. Her emphasis will be on AICP and FAICP promotion as well as exam preparation.

Certification Maintenance is becoming a significant task, and CM combined with AICP prep is more than one person can comfortably handle. In response to these expected challenges, Holly Storck, AICP of Parsons Brinckerhoff will serve as the Certification Maintenance lead.  Shiva Shrestha, AICP is the other member of the Professional Development Committee to supplement their efforts, in addition to his current role as Member-at-Large for the Metro area.

Holly's challenge is new and not well understood (even by AICP).  Please work with her to help her succeed.  She identified her first major challenge as communication.  It is important that she be notified of news and changes.  If you hear of a training opportunity or have difficulty logging credits, please forward the information to Holly so she can become and remain the Chapter's point of contact for the latest and best information.

With these appointments, our Professional Development Committee is a very strong combination of experienced, qualified, certified planners.  Please take a moment to welcome them to the Chapter and their new roles.
