The Lake Worth Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) holds monthly neighborhood community meetings to help address the needs of residents living in the most economically distressed areas of the city. The CRA staff and the team of community representatives conducted a neighborhood litter cleanup across a 14-block section of the city.

Nearly 60 volunteers helped pick up and remove over 120 bags of garbage and debris. Volunteers also mowed overgrown grass in various vacant lots. These successful cleanups are a result of neighborhood planning efforts coordinated by CRA staff. The CRA also provides the financial contribution necessary to making these events possible.

Planning department goes to the farmer’s market

Posted October 03, 2013

Medford, Oregon

Medford Planning will have a booth at the local farmer’s market on October 17 to reach out to the community about planning work in Medford and the surrounding region.

Organizers of the event feel the location of the market ties in nicely with the 2013 National Community Planning Month theme of “People and Places” since the market is held in the parking lot of the armory, giving the planners a tangible example of how a nonplace — a vacant parking lot — becomes transformed by the booths and the crowds into a defined place where people want to be.
