May 25, 2006 McCleary City Administrator Elected to APA's Professional Institute CommissionWASHINGTON, DC — McCleary, Washington, City Administrator Michael Davolio, AICP, has been elected to serve as Region V Commissioner for the American Planning Association's professional institute, the American Institute of Certified Planners. As Region V Commissioner, Davolio will serve on the eight-member commission guiding certification, ethics, professional development and accreditation policies. He will represent members from Region V, which includes Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Davolio will serve four years in this volunteer position. Davolio has more than 25 years of experience working in public and private sector positions, including the Director of Planning for David Evans and Associates, Inc. in Tacoma, after beginning his career in New England. He is a certified planner and a native of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. A dedicated member of APA, Davolio has served as General Chair of the Seattle APA National Planning Conference Host Committee, President of the APA Washington Chapter, and Co-Chair of the Washington Chapter Legislative Committee. In 2000, Davolio received the APA Washington Chapter President's Award for Distinguished Service.
