July 3, 2012 Indianapolis Planner Re-Elected to National Planning BoardCHICAGO — Cynthia Bowen, AICP, from Indianapolis, Indiana, has been re-elected to the Board of Directors for the American Planning Association (APA), a 40,000-member organization committed to promoting better communities through good planning.
Bowen is an Associate and Director of Urban Planning and Design at RW Armstrong, a global consulting firm. Prior to her current position, Bowen worked as a Senior Planner at HNTB Corporation. An active APA member, Bowen has held a number of leadership positions including president and professional development officer of the APA Indiana Chapter, and vice chair and secretary/treasurer of the Chapter Presidents Council. Within her community, Bowen currently serves on the Land Use Committee for the Lafayette Square Area Coalition. She previously served on the Pike Township Advisory Board and the Ball State College of Architecture and Planning Indy Center Advisory Board. Bowen is a graduate of Ball State University with degrees in urban and regional planning and environmental science and design. She is a certified planner.
