Join planners from across the D.C. region for a free networking reception and roundtable discussion. This special event will focus on the role of social and digital media on influencing planning policy and debate. Online journalism is playing an increasingly important role in the visibility and awareness of urban and rural sustainability issues, but what impact are these new media outlets having on planning and policy? The interactive discussion aims to analyze this issue and focus on ways new media can promote good planning and community sustainability.
This event is a great — and free! — way to cap off the last day of sessions at APA's Federal Policy & Program Briefing and to meet with planners around the region. Conference registration is not required. The event is sponsored by the American Planning Association, the Maryland Chapter of APA, the National Capital Chapter of APA, the Virginia Chapter of APA, and Advocacy Associates. Light hors d'oeuvres will be provided and cash bar available.
