

Seeking collaborative partners and sponsors will help promote and potentially fund your town hall meeting. Private planning, architecture, and urban design firms may be interested in sponsoring the event. Local and state chapters of other non-profit organizations or trade associations, such as American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Institute of Architects (AIA), American Public Works Association (APWA) and any others associated with infrastructure and the built environment may be willing to lend their support (with promotion, speakers, venue, and funding).

When seeking partners and sponsors, be prepared to answer questions and have materials ready to send to contacts via e-mail, mail, or fax. Ask them to put the event on their website, in their print and online calendars, e-newsletters, or any other promotional vehicles. Offer to put partner/sponsor names and logos in the final agenda and promotional flyers. For an example of a final agenda, see Exhibit B in the Appendix.
