Table 3c lists 36 issues for which Arctic coastal region respondents were asked to rate priorities for planning practice/analysis/research. The five issues with the highest percentage of very high or high priority ratings from respondents are:

  1. Flooding/Inundation/Storm Surge (80%);
  2. Infrastructure/Utilities Development (75%);
  3. Climate Change Impacts (75%);
  4. Hazards Management (65%); and
  5. Transportation (ground) (65%).

The five issues with the highest percentage of low or very low or "Not Applicable" priority ratings from respondents are:

  1. Food Systems Agriculture (75%);
  2. Nonpoint Source Pollution (60%);
  3. Submerged Lands Management (55%);
  4. Population Migration (55%); and
  5. Subsidence (55%).
